My name is Joe Mata, and I am a mortgage banker at our Houston Galleria with over 30 years in the mortgage industry. I love helping buyers reach the goal of home ownership and my specialty lies in navigating down payment programs and guiding first time homebuyers through the process. I credit my success at HomeTrust in part to the friendly atmosphere, being able to work as a team to make things happen and the recognitions received for a job well done.
I grew up in a small town, Wharton, TX and later attended college at The University of Houston where I received a degree in accounting with a double major in finance and computer science. I have been married for over 50 years and have a son and a daughter. I look forward to grandchildren one day, but meanwhile I enjoy my grand-dogs, golfing and traveling to Florida and Mexico.
I am a board member of both the Association of United States Army-Houston Metroplex and the Lady Lions Club, a retired board member of the Tejano Center and also a 1st Time Homebuyer instructor.
